.

Hi! My name is Antonio Rungo . Nice to see you here! Let me explain a bit more about myself and how I got to where I am now.

My interest is in using data as a tool to answer research questions and test hypotheses. Currently, I’m am working on HIV PMTCT project to eliminate Pediatric AIDS as Senior Strategic Information Advisor at mothers2mothers - Department of Research and Strategic Information in Mozambique, with a background in data science .

I graduated from the University of Hasselt with a MS in biostatistics in 2013. Looking for more tangible and dynamic work I left the world of public sector and worked on international non-governmental organization as Database Manager; Senior Database Manager & Data Analyst and M&E advisor for nine years.

It took me a while to figure out that, although I liked doing data analysis, I loved the visualization of the analysis and insights. In my evenings and weekends I started teaching myself about the subject of data visualization and I also started creating personal projects, where I worked on designing & building dashboards and other data visualizations.

In 2014 I began working as a part-time lecture in biostatistics module at Eduardo Mondlane University - Faculty of Medicine, where I am teaching biostatistics module for master students in public health, together with my colleague Dr. Gerito.

I am an R and Python enthusiast.

My full CV is available here.

If you’re interested in my projects & experiments, please feel free to contact me to find out how we might work together!
